MISSION & RESPONSIBILITIES
The mission of the Finance and Accounting Department is to manage the fiscal affairs of the City of College Park and to provide effective decision-support for City leaders as well as the various department directors and administrative staff.
The director oversees long-range strategic financial planning and provides council members, city departments, and the public with timely and accurate financial information while assuring clarity and accountability.
The department of finance is responsible for:
- Accounting
- Audit preparations
- Budget and administration
- Customer Service
- Financial reporting
- Fixed asset management
- Grant accounting
- Negotiates bond issues
- Property Taxes
- Purchasing
- Treasury management
A requirement for transparency calls for the publishing of the upcoming fiscal proposed budget.
