Candidate Qualifying CriteriaTo run for office in the City of College Park, one must meet the following qualifications:
- You must be a U.S. Citizen.
- You must have been a resident of the City for one year at the time you qualify.
- You must be a registered voter at an address within the ward for which you qualify.
- You may not have been convicted or sentenced for fraudulent violation of election laws, malfeasance in office, a felony involving moral turpitude or, if so, provide verification that your rights have been restored.
Qualifying Dates for College Park 2023 Election:
August 21-25, 2023 in the Office of the City Clerk located at College Park City Hall.
Qualifying Fees:
The qualifying fee is 3% of the previous year’s annual salary of the office/position you are seeking plus any supplements.
Mayor - $912.46, Ward II - $798.42, Ward IV - $798.42

The Elections Division of the Secretary of State's office organizes and oversees all election activity, including voter registration, municipal, state, county and federal elections. They are responsible for certification of election results as well as certifying the qualification of candidates and preparation of ballots and election forms and materials.
