Procurement & Award Methods
Formal Request For Proposal (RFP)
This method is used where the cost of commodities and services is $10,000 or greater, where there are clear and defined specifications available.

RFPs are advertised in the City’s legal organ (South Fulton Neighbor). RFPs are also posted on the City’s website and posted in the foyer at City Hall, 3667 Main Street, College Park, Ga.

Awards will always be made in the best interest of the City. Each RFP shall be submitted on documents supplied by the City. The documents supplied by the City shall be complete with an announcement page, boiler plate which includes the terms and conditions for the City, a response page for the bidder to identify himself and descriptions of the materials, supplies, and/or services required by the City.

There shall be an advertised time and place for all RFP responses to be received and opened. The bid opening will be conducted by the Purchasing Manager (or designee) with the requesting Department Head and any interested citizens or vendors. Once all responses have been received and opened at the public meeting, the results will be recorded to determine the total value from each vendor.

A recommendation for award shall be presented at the next scheduled official public meeting of the Mayor and Council, who will make the final decision for all awards $10,000 or more.
