What's happening in College Park? Fire Station Groundbreaking, New Bridge near Camp Creek

The City of College Park is steadfast in its forward thinking, holding meetings with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to scope the replacement of the bridge used by pedestrians and autos near the 2900 block of Camp Creek Parkway.  The current bridge connects 2 apartment complexes with access to a strip mall, as well as connectivity to Camp Creek Parkway.  With new development on the horizon (WallyPark) it became wise to seek upgrades to the bridge for the (perceived) additional traffic expected. A construction date has not yet been set.

College Park's downtown district continues to be enhanced, with strategies to market the now designated Tax Allocation District, or a TAD. There are plans to concentrate on the establishment of multiple family housing, hospitality, entertainment and additional retail outlets near the downtown area.  Another area under consideration for redevelopment includes the former Yorktowne Condominium property.

The groundbreaking for fire station #3 is a few short weeks away; to be located near the intersection of West Fayetteville and Southhampton Roads.
